Well, it was going to happen eventually giving the fact of where we live. This morning I was awakened not by a loud noise like the radio alarm going off or kids screaming, not by the delicious smell of coffee brewing, not by a gentle touch or a child pouncing on me, but by the bitter head bending awful smell of skunk that was permeating my entire house!
I had only woken up to this ghastly odor once before about eight years ago, I had thought at first there was a gas leak in the house. At the time the two dogs we owned decided to chase a skunk, which in self-defense sprayed the two knuckle heads right in their faces. Today my husband was out for a run with Buster, and before either one of them knew it, a skunk had already taken aim and fired upon them.
Now I am stuck smelling this smell which is actually beginning to make me sick. Too cold to open the windows, and there is not enough air deodorizer in the world to cover the smell, even if that was a viable way to remove this terrible stink. No, the kids are off to their air pollutant free school and Chris is breathing the stale air of his office building. Meanwhile, here I sit, with my stinky dog in my smelly house writing down my woes of the moment.
And to add to my situation, there is no escaping this house today…because my gosh dang car is in the shop!
