So I have to say that last night was one of my life’s greatest girl’s night out!!! I literally laughed my ass right off!!! We started with appetizers at a wine bar. Our bartender/hostess was this great 20 something gal named Victoria or Tori and she was just a big burst of fun energy. She made myself and Donna feel so comfortable at this quaint little nook called “The Grape” on 5th street in the Gas Lamp district of San Diego. We sipped on this wonderful Merlot and chatted about her recent trek from Connecticut to the Pacific coast…we laughed at her stories and her heroism in the pursuit of a new adventure in life. We also ran into this interesting, yet I have to say perhaps a wee bit out there, self proclaimed poet by the name of Don.( But who am I to label anyone as self proclaimed…I’m a self proclaimed writer…after all isn’t that what most bloggers are anyway?) But our night out didn’t end there, after meeting our poet and hearing some of his charming but not so poetic poetry, we went on to Ghirardelli’s for our nightcap of a desert! Decadent chocolate drinks coupled with hot fudge topped brownies, whipped cream and all…to die for!!!
We brought it back to our room and devoured all of it as we watched a favorite show on one of our laptops…”Avatar, The Last Air bender”!
Female bonding…an ongoing process…it begins when we are little girls and it knows no age limits. It exists between girls/women extending from childhood to old age, between sisters, cousins, sister-in-laws, mothers and their daughters, grand mothers and their granddaughters… it is a never-ending journey. It is the life’s blood of every woman…we live longer and live life fuller because of our female friends…no women should ever be without a best gal pal!!
Hey an evening with out with Donna along with an outlandish amount of wine and chocolate is most surely the best way to end our adventures here in California.
