What’s for dinner tonight?

Making  ”Chicken Italiano” tonight for my church’s monthly Shepherd’s Meal and it is soooo good, easy too. This is one of my family’s favorite dishes.

Bone in chicken thighs and legs

Unsalted butter for sautéing

Lowry’s seasoned salt

Hunt’s tomato sauce

Garlic powder

Fresh rosemary chopped

Your favorite pasta

Clean chicken legs and pull off skin then pat dry.  Sprinkle Lowry’s lightly over chicken pieces. Heat the butter in nonstick pan and sauté the chicken legs. (I’m making 12lbs so I do it in batches!) Once chicken is a golden brown color, add the tomato sauce to cover the chicken along with the garlic powder and fresh rosemary. Cover and let simmer on low heat for 45 minutes and then serve over your pasta.

The sauce is so delicious and there is no cheese in this recipe…for the non-cheese lovers who ever you are! Lastly, if you want to reduce the calories you can remove any residual butter use for sautéing from the pan before adding the sauce, garlic and rosemary.
