There is just something about Grace and New York City…they seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly. For a little girl, she is so comfortable being in the big city. She embraces the excitement of New York and then matches it with her own brand of electricity. She is interactive with everyone she comes in contact with…all types of people that she does not see in her day to day life here in suburbia. Grace seems to be compelled to help out anyone asking for money for the homeless, even to approach the destitute on the streets to offer them what little money she has does not skew her passion for the city. It is part of the city life so she accepts at and is not shaken by the fact. She lights up and becomes quick footed almost the moment we get out of our car…racing ahead, which makes me a bit nervous, to see as much of New York as she can. The restaurants and the shows alike are just as exciting to her as coming down the steps on Christmas morning to see what Santa has brought.
I hope she holds onto her love of the Big Apple…it is wonderful to just watch her as she navigates it with enthusiasm and confidence, and it will be even more amazing to see as the years go by.
